Charities will benefit
Last year’s BBC Children in Need appeal raised a record amount in Scotland and across the UK – and now more local charities than ever, that work with children and young people across the country, could benefit.
With over £26m raised in the UK, BBC Children in Need are looking to award a total of £5 million to local organisations in Scotland and are welcoming applications now.
Jackie Bird, presenter of BBC Children in Need in Scotland, says: “It was overwhelming how much Scotland donated in November and now is the time that the money goes to those who need it. We hope that organisations, no matter their size or location, will apply for the money so that children across Scotland can really benefit.”
Fraser Falconer, Head of the Appeal in Scotland added: “Our grants can make a difference for local organisations across Scotland and we know that many children’s and youth organisations would benefit from a grant. Our application process is quite straightforward. However, we would be delighted to talk or meet anyone thinking of applying.”

The BBC Children in Need Appeal is a charity registered in England, Wales and Scotland.
BBC Children in Need’s vision is that every child in the UK has a safe, happy and secure childhood and the chance to reach their potential. They realise this vision by supporting, promoting and publicising work that addresses the challenges that children and young people face and work that builds their skills and resilience.
They use the money they get to support projects working with disadvantaged children and young people in the UK.
