Christmas switch-on

the switching on of the Christmas tree lights in the Market Square in Stonehaven for 2012 is coming ever closer.

The tree will be placed in the Square on Monday November 19 with the decorating being carried out during that week. The switch on will be on Friday November 23 at 7pm.

The children from the local nurseries/schools are doing a competition in the run up to these dates to get the chance to be in the party who will switch the lights on.

Mearns FM will be playing Christmas music on the Plainstones from 6pm through to 7.30pm. Incorporating the countdown with the children for the big switch on.

Santa Claus and the Round Table will be in attendance to help make the night special.

The organisers have thanked Dee Valley Caravans, Aberdeenshire Council, David Strang Steel for the tree, Ivan Groundwater for the Manitou, I-Morph for donating the lights, Forest View Centre for the Star, Mearns FM and of course Santa and his Round Table friends.
