Fuzz off for Finlay raises over £2000 for charities

Fuzz off for Finlay raised more than £700 each for three local charities.

The event which took place in November last year saw volunteers growing facial hair throughout the month of November which was then shaved off, on stage at an event in Stonehaven Town Hall.

There was also entertainment and food on the night.

The total raised by the event was £2115 and this will be split between the three charities.

Finlay’s fund, the Town Hall Trust and Mearns Community Radio will each receive a cheque for £705.

Gail Sangster, Finlay’s mum, said: “Thank you to everyone who took part in the entertainment for the night, we really appreciate you giving up your time and we know most of you travelled a fair distance to be with us.

‘‘Thanks also to those of you who endured bizarre facial hair for the month leading up to the event.

“A special mention must be made to Doug for all her efforts in the planning and execution of the event, you always go above and beyond and we are eternally grateful.”
