Join a growing pride of Stonehaven Lions

Stonehaven and District Lions Club have given everyone in the community a roar of approval.

They have also thanked local people for their ongoing support during 2012 and offered best wishes for 2013.

A club spokesman said this week: ‘‘Whether you queued for our delicious and now infamous pure beef burgers, or you offered your services or resources, if you spent your money, or made some money for your own cause at the Feein’ market, or you popped some cash in one of our collection tins please give yourself a pat on the back and stand proud, your efforts have ensured our local community and beyond have benefited.”

All cash collected through the Stonehaven Lions goes to good causes and all the members are volunteers.

The spokesman added: ‘‘Do you feel you could be a Stonehaven Lion and dedicate some of your time to having fun and serving the community? The Lions meet on the first and third Monday of every month at 8pm in the Belvedere Hotel in Stonehaven. New members have recently joined but more are welcome so, if you have ever thought about it, why not come along this new year and see how you can get involved?

‘‘ With an ongoing social programme and a range of events already planned you will be warmly welcomed.’’
