PUPILS at Mill O’ Forest Primary School in Stonehaven celebrated Robert Burns’ birthday in style with a themed assembly last Friday - the 254th anniversary to the day of the birth of the Bard

Kitted out in tartan, pupils from every age group in the school took part in the assembly which involved singing, poetry reading, dancing and performances on musical instruments.

Any pupil in the school who wanted to take part and do something Scottish was invited to participate and the result was a spectacular showcase of talent.

Youngsters from every year recited Burns poetry from memory and a number of the school’s dancers showed some of their Scottish dancing skills.

ASSEMBLY

So many pupils came forward wishing to recite the Bard’s work that a competition was held.

The winner from each year group was invited to recite their chosen poem at the assembly and the competition was close, teachers having to explain that choosing winners and runners-up was a very hard decision.
