Reverend Albert Bogle to visit Mearns

The Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland, the Very Rev. Albert Bogle, will be visitng the Mearns this week.

He will be visiting the Presbytery of Kincardine and Deeside from Sunday March 3, until Sunday March 10 and during this visit he will see some of the work of the Church in this area and also learn something of the local economy.

On Monday March 4 he will be in the Mearns to visit some farms, learning of the agricultural ups and downs, and also in the afternoon to visit a “Fairtrade, Fairprice” display at the Dickson Hall in Laurencekirk.

This will be looking at the need for a “Fairprice” at the farm gate for our farmers and also the need for “Fairtrade” with Third World countries. This is open to the public from 2pm to 8pm with refreshments served, the Moderator to visit in the afternoon.

His visit falls within Fairtrade Fortnight (February 25 to March 10) and for this period there is 20% off all Fairtrade goods with a large range on display for the day.
