A team of cadets from (1297) Stonehaven Squadron Air Cadets recently took part in the Cadet Inter Service Skill at Arms Meeting which was held at the Army Training Regiment Centre at Pirbright in Surrey.

The event is for the top teams from each of the cadet services, and involved a total of 260 cadets. The competition saw twelve teams from Sea Cadet Corps and twenty from both the Army Cadet Force and Air Training Corps take part

Whilst attending the meeting the cadets competed in four separate competitions: Rifle Pairs, Earl Roberts AMS, Montgomery of Alamein and the Marling competitions. The Stonehaven cadets finished second, third, sixteenth and tenth respectively in the various competitions. Overall the team’s results saw the Stonehaven Squadron finish a very creditable eighth out of fifty two teams. Excellent performances from three Stonehaven cadets Sgt Joe Gray, Cpl Christian Avis and Sgt Angus Matheson saw them finish in the top fifty and were awarded “Fifty” badges. Consistent performances saw the same three cadets being selected to represent the Air Training Corps in the Inter Services Final.
