Local Group, Laurencekirk Amateur Musical Society, are appealing to local businesses for support with their next production, Fame The Musical.

A spokesperson said: “We were very lucky to receive some grants towards our production of ‘Bad Girls’ last year and were able to produce a very high standard of show.

“Unfortunately, these were start-up grants for which we are no longer eligible.

“We are determined to maintain the high standards we have set for ourselves and have chosen an even more challenging and, therefore, expensive show this year.

“Fame The Musical requires a much more substantial set, larger band and more costumes.

“We are looking for local businesses to offer their support to this community based group and seek sponsors for each of our five performances, advertisers for our programme, and any other support anyone can offer.

“LAMS thrilled and delighted the local community with the standard of show we produced last year – please support us and enable us to do it again.”
