Following on the success of last year’s show, Laurencekirk Artists are busy preparing for their third annual exhibition which is on at the Venue later this month.
Altogether, some 14 artists are taking part this year, with a total of 55 paintings on display in what promises to be an exciting and varied display.
The exhibition features a diverse range of of subjects and genres - from landscape to seascape, portaiture to flower studies.
And, while most of the work is best described as representational, there is a variety of approaches in a wealth of different media. Oils, acrylics, mixed media and watercolour are all represented in this eclectic show.
Though it would be fair to say that landscapes predominate, the artists hope that there will be something for everyone. All in all, there is much to celebrate and much to enjoy in this colourful, engaging and delightful show.
This year, a new feature of the exhibition is a section devoted to ‘smaller works.’
Proceeds from the original works will go to two local charities: The Laurencekirk Hanging Basket & Christmas Lights fund and the Laurencekirk Pre-school Playgroup.
The exhibition runs from October 26 to the 27th in the Venue, High Street, Laurencekirk.
It is open to the public on Saturday between 10am and 6pm, and on Sunday between 10am and 4pm. Admission is free.
