Alan Davies returns to stand-up with date in Aberdeen

After more than a decade since his last British stand-up show and following a hugely successful tour of Australia in 2011, Alan Davies, the much-loved star of iconic television series such as Jonathan Creek and QI, makes a long-awaited return to the UK stage with his new live show later this year.

Although now best-known for his television work, Alan started his career in stand-up comedy. In 1991 he was named Time-Out’s Best Young Comic and in 1994 he won the Edinburgh Festival Critics Award for Comedy.

Announced during an appearance on The Graham Norton Show on BBC1 last night, tickets for the Music Hall performance of the Life Is Pain tour on Friday, October 19 are on sale now (Saturday, 28 January).

“We are all very excited that Alan Davies is back doing what he does best – live stand-up comedy.” said Ben Torrie, Head of Programming for Aberdeen Performing Arts (APA)

“Following rave reviews of his Australian dates last year, this is sure to be one of the highlights of our comedy programme in 2012.”

Tickets are available online at www.boxofficeaberdeen.com, by phone at 01224 641122 and in person at Aberdeen Box Office at the Music Hall and His Majesty’s Theatre.
