Dramatic opener for Ury competition
ThE Ury Players are be competing in the first round of a national amateur dramatics competition.
The annual Scottish Community Drama Association (SCDA) One Act play Festival is taking place in Aberdeen Arts Centre, King Street from today (Thursday) until Saturday, February 23.
The Players are entering a record three entries this year, all of which are original productions written by club members.
Today, Youth Team A will be performing “The Last Mile” by Andrew Dart, followed by the Adult Team tomorow (Friday) with “Grounds For Concern” by Russell Adams.

On Saturday, Youth Team B will be doing another Russell Adams play, “The Other Side Of The Mountain”.
The three plays are very different, ranging from dramatically serious to whimsical fun, so there is sure to be something to suit everyone.
The Ury Players teams will be competing against two other Aberdeen amateur dramatics club each night, with the winners announced after the last play on Saturday evening by the adjudicator, Richard Ellis.
If you want to go along and support your local drama group in this competition, curtain up is at 7:30pm and tickets are £12 adult, £10 concession, £8 youth and are available from the Arts Centre
