Wrestlezone in Newtonhill
The larger-than-life wrestlers from WrestleZone are set to make a splash in Newtonhill later this month.
The grapplers will be in bone-crunching wrestling action at the Bettridge Centre on Friday, November 9.
And the main event promises to be the biggest ever, as eight men battle in tag team competition.
On one side will be the most-popular grapplers in the WrestleZone; Scotty Swift, Crusher Craib and the Granite City Hotshots. Their opponents for the evening are former champions Johnny Lions, Damien and Sterling Oil. The action is set to come thick-and-fast as these grapplers battle for supremacy in Newtonhill.
WrestleZone representative Dave Paterson is hyped for the debut event in the Aberdeenshire town, he said: “The animosity between these eight-men has reached breaking point, and the only way to settle their differences is inside the wrestling ring.
“The WrestleZone fans have picked their favourites, but some of our grapplers don’t understand that they are not liked.
“But in Newtonhill, we have put together a match that pits the finest grapplers against one another in a classic eight-man tag team contest. The winning team will pick-up all the plaudits while the losers will have to reflect on being second-best.
“This promises to be an unmissable bout and one we are delighted will mark our debut at the Bettridge Centre.”
The bout will headline a super six-match card that will also feature colourful characters such as Los Cystos, Blue Thunder, Aspen Faith and Holyrood Blonds.
The event will mark the next step on the road to the Beach Ballroom, with WrestleZone currently planning a supershow to take place in June next year. Mr Paterson continued: “All eyes are on next year’s huge event, and the results of this bout matter in the reckoning.
“We have put the eight top grapplers into one match, and this promises to be quite the spectacle.
“WrestleZone offer great family-friendly entertainment, with the emphasis on crowd interaction with our grapplers. We aim to ensure everyone leaves our events with a smile on their face having laughed and cheered along with their heroes.”
Doors at the Bettridge Centre, Coastal Park, open at 7pm with the action getting underway at 7.30pm. Admission is pay-at-the-door only, priced £10 for adults and £7 for under 14s.
