Laurencekirk Burns Appreciation Group held their 17th Annual Burns Supper last Saturday in the New Mearns Academy Campus, chaired by Jim Brown.
The well known local raconteur and Burns enthusiast was joined by other guest speakers.
The haggis was piped in by Andrew Young, carried by Jackie Urquhart and suitably addressed by Grant Wilson.
The Immortal Memory was toasted by Ian Bell who gave a great and informative talk on the life of Robert Burns,and how his work is appreciated throughout the world.
Toast to the Lasses was by John Medlock and replied to by Rosemary Reilly. Throughout the evening, the well-attended supper was entertained with a variety of ballads and humorous songs from Alan Taylor, Aboyne, with musical entertainment from Bob Black on the accordion.
The evening was much appreciated by all who attended thanks to the calibre of the speakers and musical entertainment.
