A GROUP of Mearns Academy pupils were special guests at the official opening of Laurencekirk railway station.

The school was responsible for compiling the information boards in the station waiting room.

The boards were a joint effort between the History, English and Art departments.

They show the history of Laurencekirk and the station in particular.
