Marykirk School's new garden was officially opened by Provost Bill Howatson at a garden party last week.

The creation of the garden has been a real community effort. It includes an eco-friendly greenhouse, a traditional greenhouse, vegetable boxes, flower bed, friendship bench, weather station, friendship arch and butterfly boxes.

The garden is the first of its kind to be created as part of the Adventure Service Challenge and has earned the school a certificate.
