A new book called ‘A Tribute to the Women of Gourdon’ has gone on sale and will be on display at heritage weekend taking place this week.
The book records the vital work carried out by the women in the fishing village over a period of nearly 150 years.
Author Celia Craig said: “I will be displaying a selection of photos from the book at the Heritage Weekend, celebrating the anniversary of the Gourdon surf boat, the Maggie Law, the key feature of the Maggie Law Maritime Museum in Gourdon and focus of the anniversary celebrations.
“The Exhibition takes place on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 November, 10.30 - 4.30 in the Gourdon village Hall.”
The book has an extensive photo gallery which will also be on show throughout the weekend and provides a reocrd of the fishing traditions in Gourdon.
