The Co-operative has joined forces with Just Trading Scotland (JTS) and the Scottish Fair Trade Forum to show amateur cooks in Stonehaven how to get the best out of Fairtrade ingredients to create tasty African dishes at home.
The “Savour the Flavour African Kitchen Tour” is free, will feature recipe tips and ideas, as well as Fairtrade tastings and the chance to take part in a free prize draw to win Co-operative and JTS Fairtrade products.
The event, at the Town Hall in Stonehaven from 7pm on Friday, July 13, is part of the United Nations International Year of Co-operatives, and is in support of Scotland’s bid for Fair Trade Nation status.
Organiser Liz Armstrong, Co-operative Membership Officer in Scotland, said: “The Co-operative has a proud record of supporting Fairtrade, and this is a great opportunity for people to learn how to get the most out of Fairtrade produce to make authentic African dishes, while having some fun at the same time.”
Tickets are free but should be pre-booked, by contacting The Co-operative Membership on 0141 304 5582, or visiting www.co-operativememberevents.coop
