The Aberdeenshire Alcohol and Drug Partnership (ADP), launched its Healthier, Happier, Safer Strategy last Tuesday at Portlethen Academy. The Healthier, Happier, Safer Strategy seeks to promote a vision to meet the challenges facing local communities in Aberdeenshire.
As part of the ADP Strategy launch, Portlethen Academy pupils, Callum Martin, S5 and Colin Wood S3, were visiting the Aberdeenshire Life Education Centres (ALEC) Bus which operates three mobile classrooms with full-time educators, which was parked at the event. Pupils are encouraged to develop healthy attitudes towards the effects of substances with particular emphasis on medicines, tobacco and alcohol. Funding from the ADP has allowed ALEC to expand its service by funding its secondary programmes on tobacco and alcohol for all pupils in S1/2.
