Earlier this year Ury Players were saddened by the death of stalwart member, Margaret Waldie.
Margaret had been involved with the Ury Players since the club’s early days in the 1950s.
She appeared on stage and directed many productions both locally and as part of the Scottish Community Drama Festival. Even in her later years she was a loyal supporter of the club. Attending the various productions staged in the Town Hall.
Her experience and knowledge of amateur dramatics was always of benefit and much appreciated new members.
As a fitting tribute to her outstanding contribution to the success of the club for more than half a century, the Ury Players Summer Production, ‘Allo ‘ Allo, is to be dedicated to her memory.
Margaret would have much appreciated the humour of the 2 Act Play based on the hugely popular TV comedy series written by Jeremy Lloyd and David Croft.
The setting of this production is particularly apt as Margaret loved to regale the company with entertaining accounts of her wartime experiences while serving with WRAC.
There will be two performances of ‘Allo ‘Allo on Thursday 14th and Friday 15th June in Stonehaven Town Hall. Tickets are now on sale at the Rose Bowl, Barclay Street.
