The Stonehaven New Year’s Day Dip is scheduled to take place at noon, with CLIC Sargent looking for those brrr-ave enough to take part.
The children’s and young people’s cancer charity is calling for local people to embrace the elements and sign up for a sponsored dip in Stonehaven Harbour to raise money for sufferers.
Holly Taylor, fundraising manager, said: “I’m sure there are lots of locals who will join in the fun and help us raise much-needed funds to make a difference to the lives of children and young people with cancer in the North-East of Scotland.
“Whether you’ll be braving the dip yourself, or coming to support a ‘dip and nipper,’ we would love to see you there.”
We have been told this week that all participants will be given a free CLIC Sargent T-shirt and a lovely hot cup of soup donated by Cool Gourmet, a nip of whisky to warm up the over-18s - donated by Dunnottar Wine and Spirits - and delicious sweets courtesy of Aunty Betty’s.
Fancy dress is optional but encouraged as there will be a special prize for the best costume.
Registration for the event is free and participants are being asked to raise a minimum of £100 sponsorship to take part.
