A 24 year old motorcyclist has died following an accident on one of the busiest roads in the north east.
At 1545 hours Police Scotland along with Ambulance and Fire services attended a two vehicle Road Traffic Collision on the A90 northbound near to the Bruntland Road entrance to Portlethen. The collision involved a Black Suzuki GSR motorcyle being ridden by a male person, travelling north and a Silver Ford Focus being driven by a 52 year old male travelling South.
At the moment the cause of the collision has not been established.
The motorcyclist died at the scene and the driver of the motor car has been taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary with burn injuries.
Road closures were initiated by the police at scene and signs were put in place by BEAR Scotland.
The road was reopened around 10pm Wednesday night following an investigation into the accident.
