Witness appeal after local thefts

Grampian Police are appealing for witnesses after a series of thefts have taken place in the Stonehaven area.

People leaving their cars unlocked are becoming targeted by thieves. The thefts occurred in the Rivertisde Drive and Braehead areas of Stonehaven.

The incidents happened between 11pm on Monday 25 June and 6.30am on Tuesday 26 June.

As a result of the incident, a quantity of personal belongings and a mid two-figure sum of cash were stolen from three cars, which had been left unlocked.

A car was also stolen from Braehead Crescent on Monday evening.

Grampian Police are keen to trace any suspicious people seen in the vicinity at the time stated.

Investigating officer Constable Bowser-Riley said: “I would urge local residents to ensure their cars, houses, garages and outbuildings are secured and to remain vigilant and aware of who is in the area.”
