Whether you were at the Status Quo concert during Montrose Music Festival, or just wished you were, a guitar signed by frontmen Francis Rossi and Rick Parfitt is the perfect memento from their visit to the north east.
Ma Simpson’s music shop in Stonehaven - who have the signed guitar on display - are selling raffle tickets and one lucky winner will take home the guitar when it is drawn during Stonehaven’s Party in the Park on July 27.
Profits from the raffle will go towards building a kidney dialysis unit in the town, a project which, after several years of fundraising, is nearing its target.
Chris Stirk, owner of Ma Simpsons and newly-appointed chair of the Stonehaven Business Association, said: “We have four fifths of the money that we need for the dialysis unit, so this will definitely help.
“I didn’t get to meet the Quo, but I pass along a note with the guitar, explaining what we were raising funds for.
“I’m told they didn’t sign everything they were asked to sign, so we’re very lucky. I plan on sending them a thank you letter.”
The guitar will remain on display, either at Ma Simpsons or R & B Music in Aberdeen, until July 27, and raffle tickets are available from the Stonehaven shop.
