This week, Stonehaven Folk Club finally welcomes award-winning duo Si Barron and Ros Brady to the club this Friday (May 17).
This exciting young duo seem to get excellent reviews wherever they play so the club is delighted that the two-year wait since they were booked is finally over.
They have been playing together for a number of years and have developed an original and a very tight sound to both the traditional and self-penned songs that they sing delivered with tight harmonies and excellent guitar work from Simon.
Former Radio 2 presenter Mike Harding said of them “Terrific... Good songs well sung... I kept hearing things- Incredible String Band, Nick Drake, John Martyn- lots of stuff and yet at the same time the music is very much their own... very very good”.
Following on from the superb young all female trio Lady Maisery at the club two weeks ago this Friday’s gig promises to be another excellent evening featuring a new generation of talented young folk artists. For an inexpensive evening’s entertainment this will be hard to beat!
Si Barron and Ros Brady will be playing at 8.30 pm this Friday (May 17) in the Lower Community Centre, Bath Street.
Entry is just £6/£8. Club membership at £12 available on the night and valid until end of March 2014 secures the lower entrance price!
The club is open to all and admits accompanied school age children free. There will be no Bar so BYOB.
