TICKETS have gone on sale for Stonehaven’s Hogmanay music spectacular - Open Air In The Square 2016.
A limited number of “early bird” tickets went on sale on Monday through the groups website at a reduced rate of £28.50 + booking fee per ticket. They are available through the event website www.oaits.org/tickets
A spokesman from OAITS said: “Everybody behind the scene’s at Open Air in the Square did a fantastic job and worked hard to pull off a show of this scale in Stonehaven. Despite some concerns of the bar’s queue length the feedback from attendee’s have been very positive with one crowd member commenting on Facebook saying: ‘Fantastic night, didn’t think you could top Simple Minds but you certainly did! Deacon blue can still rock it after all these years.’
“The bands also had a fantastic time: ‘Thank you to the fantastic audience, organisers and all the other great bands at the OAITS last night. We had such a brilliant night. Wishing you all a cracker of a New Year. Love Lorraine & The Borderlands.’”
The yearly hogmanay party is organised by a committee of volunteers and was headlined by Scottish pop legends Deacon Blue. The event attracted approximately 4000 from across Scotland and the rest of the UK to Stonehaven.
Who do you think should headline Open Air in the Square 2016? The past two years have seen the headline act announced in the middle of the year with anticipation already building for who will take part and play Stonehaven into 2017.
So far, the Red Hot Chilli Pipers, Simple Minds, The Human League and Deacon Blue have headlined Open Air in the Square. Who was your favourite over the last four years?
