Stonehaven Folk Club’s season draws to a close for the July break with the visit of veteran Blues, Ragtime and Folk entertainer Eddie Walker.
Eddie has been a favourite at the club and festival over the years and so this final visit before Eddie calls it a day is eagerly awaited if tinged with a little sadness that he won’t be back. His ragtime guitar playing, singing and all round entertaining is hard to beat and a full house to wish him well in his retirement is hoped for and expected!
Eddie has been on the road for forty five years and whilst he may still be tempted out for the odd gig this will be his last solo tour. Alongside the country style of Jimmie Rodgers, The Carter Familly, Merle Travis and Doc Watson Eddie plays the old ragtime blues songs of Broonzy, Hurt, McTell, Gary Davis and Blind Arthur Blake. His guitar picking is impressive and the entertainment value irrepressible! Come along and be thrilled by this superb performer!
It should be another great evening of top Live music entertainment in Stonehaven! 8.30pm this Friday June 28 in the Lower Community Centre. More information on this and future events from Pat on 764202. No Bar so BYOB. The club resumes for the second half on August 2.
