Fettercairn Gala fun

Fettercairn Gala Week has a Jubilee theme this year. Gala Week begins with a quiz in the Public Hall tonight at 7.30pm.

On Sunday, May 27, there is Songs of Praise in the Church at 11am, followed by a Jubilee part in the park. Bring your own lunch and dress up in either a Jubilee themed outfit or an outfit from any decade of the Queen’s reign.

Monday sees prize bingo in the Public Hall, always a good night.

The concert on Wednesday, May 30, again in the Public Hall, sees the return of the Scottish Accordion Music Group. Tickets £6 are available from the Fettery Shoppe and Post Office or by phoning Helen Thomson or Alison Argo, tel (01561) 340309 or 340221.

On Thursday, May 31 there is a car treasure hunt, entry £3 per head. Depart from the hall from 6pm.

A junior walking treasure hunt will depart from the park pavillion at 5.30pm.

The main Gala Day is on Saturday, June 2. In this year of the Diamond Jubilee, the committee are delighted that the Gala will be opened by Kate Somervell of Fettercairn House at 1.30pm.

There will be all the usual activities, including a Scottish County Dancing display by the Laurencekirk Scottish Country Dancers.

There will be a Jubilee Hat competition and the Duck Race will start from the Arch at 3.30pm.
