FUNDRAISING for Finlay’s Fund has been scaled back this year due to the brave six year-old becoming a bog brother just last week.

So the Fund, which raises money to pay for vital equipment and therapy for Finlay, who has cerebral palsy, is ever reliant on kind donations from local companies and members of the community.

Set up three years ago to help make day to day living more accessible for Finlay the Fund has gone from strength to strength and the support network seems to grow year on year much to the delight of the hard working committee, Finlay and his parents.

The most recent donation of £640 from Franks International will go towards the cost of metal ramps to allow Finlay access to his grandparents’ houses which are clearly unable to be modified to meet his needs.

Finlay spends a considerable amount of time with his grandparents thus making their homes accessible to him with the purchase of ramps will allow this to continue without putting anyone’s safety at risk.

Franks International approached the fund in the latter part of 2011 to ask if the money raised through the annual Christmas raffle could be donated to Finlay.

The support and generosity of the company is very much appreciated by all of the Fund and Finlay thoroughly enjoyed his trip to the oil company for the presentation of the cheque.

Finlay’s parents would like to thank the charity committee for voting to support Finlay and to Eddie Sinclair and his team for making Finlay so welcome during our visit to the office.
