This Friday, visiting musicians Kenny Speirs and Judy Dinning will entertain staff and students at Mill of Forest School in the first Folk in Schools event this term.
Stonehaven Folk Club organises and underwrites these visits which are designed to introduce children to live music and enthuse them in a different form of music than they would normally come across on the radio and entertain them at the same time.
Club Chair Andy Popplestone said “These events always go down well with the schools and it’s one popular way the club puts something back into the community. Kenny is a former teacher and has a great rapport with children. I am sure the visit will be a great success”.
Later on Friday evening, Kenny and Judy will be entertaining the big children at the Stonehaven Folk Club with their great singing and humorous banter! Everyone welcome! This will be another entertaining good value evening of live accoustic music in the Lower Community Centre, Bath Street at 8:30 pm, £6/£8.
Accompanied school age children get in free! More information from Pat on 01569 764202. No bar so BYOB.
