Stones in his Pockets, a production by the famous Mull Theatre, is coming to Johnshaven Village Hall on Thursday, September 3 at 7.30pm.
The show tells the story of a community in rural Ireland turned upside down by the arrival of an American film crew on location to capture the “real” Ireland for their latest blockbuster. However, the local people struggle to present the Americans’ romanticised Ireland, a stark contrast to the reality of daily life.
From the local lads intent on being stars, to the film’s American lead actress, whose Irish accent leaves a lot to be desired; two actors portray a multitude of characters in this hilarious yet poignant play.
The comedy was a Fringe hit, with a West End run, won an Olivier Award for Best New Comedy and was nominated for three Tony Awards. Tickets, £9/£8/£6/£24 (family of 4) www.neatshows.co.uk.
