Laurencekirk Scout Group have thanked parents who have come forward to secure the group’s future.
The Observer reported on how the group was in jeopardy following a lack of volunteers to form an executive committee.
The committee needed to have a chairman, treasurer and secretary, as well as section leaders for the group to continue.
The group currently has around 60 children who take part in Scouts, Cubs and Beavers, with trips planned in December.
Following the group’s extraordinary general meeting (EGM) last Thursday, a full committee is now in place.
The Scout group took to social media on Friday to thank those who have now stepped forward to help.
They posted on facebook: “We are delighted to announce that a full committee is now in place securing the future of the Laurencekirk Scout, Cub and Beaver groups.”
