Owing to the success of their third Annual Exhibition at the end of October, Laurencekirk Artists were able to donate to two local charities.
Thanks to the generosity of those who visited the show – over 200 did so in the course of the weekend – the exhibition raised a total of £420 from the sale of ‘smaller works’.
The artists decided to support the Laurencekirk Christmas Lights Fund and the Laurencekirk Pre-School Playgroup.
On Monday, Margaret-Anne Mackie and Cathy Reid, both prominent members of the Laurencekirk Artists Society, presented a cheque to Vicki Cracknell of the Playgroup which caters for 28 children.
Among other activities, the children enjoy painting and the money donated will be used to purchase craft materials.
