Harbour Festival organisers are already looking towards next year as they announced that £7000 was raised from this years event.

The event is organised by Stonehaven and District Lions, Stonehaven Rotary and Stonehaven Roundtable.

Organisers told us: “Having finally counted all of the money received at the recent Harbour Festival, the organisers can now reveal that £7,000 was raised for the Proposed new Dialysis Unit at Kincardineshire Community Hospital.”

Organisers wish to thank The RNLI, Survival Craft Inspectorate, Coast Guard, Sea Cadets, Yacht Club, Mclachlan Marine, Newtonhill Pipe band and Mackie Rugby Club.

They added: “Without these people, and all of the stall holders and other helpers we would not have been able to raise such a large sum of money.

“The weather was kind and people turned up in their thousands to see a packed programme of events on the water and on land. We are very grateful for their generous donations to this worthy cause.

“The organisers are already looking to next year and hope to be able to announce the date very soon so that you can all put it in your diary.”
