Heritage Society set for talk on vintage cars

Bill Pirie is a man of many skills, interests and community commitment.

He was brought up at Braehead Farm, Stonehaven, and for the last 46 years has lived at Fettercairn. Although he was an agricultural adviser for Spillers, specialising in cattle and sheep, he will give an illustrated talk to Auchenblae’s Heritage Society at 7.30pm on Monday 11 April in the church hall on one of his most obsessive passions - vintage cars.

The title of the talk doesn’t quite convey the range of topics and vehicles covered - included will be memorised number plates, headlamp stories, Spitfire dreams and long past local forms of public transport etc.

The Heritage Society’s December meeting was cancelled because of the dreadful weather and Bill, at short notice, has kindly stepped in to give members and visitors the full quota of advertised talks. Many thanks to him and a good turn out will certainly enjoy a memorable evening.
