A hypnotist event in Inverbervie this Friday will mark prolific local fundraiser Caroll Evans’ final big event for the Royal Burgh.

Caroll (37), who also writes the ‘What’s on Bervie’ column for the Leader and Observer, is hoping that the evening, which is being billed as a Comedy Hypnotist Event, will see her final contribution to the fundraising circuit hailed as a huge success.

Local businesswoman and mum of three Caroll has been involved in the community since her children started to attend the Toddler group in 2007, which led her to joining up for Committee responsibilities, and that always included fundraisers.

Caroll has been heavily involved in local fundraising, from the ‘Bervie Bares All’ naked calendar in 2009 to Sponsored Abseils and everything inbetween.

Due to family and work commitments Caroll has had to step down from her Community roles and although sad to take a step back says she is excited about the final event this Friday (September 25), featuring hypnotist Acari.

Caroll said: “I happened to get in touch with Acari and he was interested in coming to Bervie, we are really excited to have him coming for my last event, I just hope I don’t cry.”

Caroll added that new Facebook formats helped her to come to her decision. She expalined: “We have a huge online network via Facebook and Twitter.

“Facebook have changed the format of our main page so I can not interact with our huge audience of 3,000 making it so much harder to arrange events, workshops and even basic stuff like volunteers for the community gardens so I feel it’s my time to take a back seat.

“I will continue to admin the online network and share the information but need to step down from the organisation side of things. My kids are still little and work is so busy, I just don’t have a spare minute in the day.”

Caroll, who is originally from Stonehaven, said she has thoroughly enjoyed everything that she has been involved with throughout her time on the local committees, from toddlers to The Bervie Play Parks and finally with a short stint on the Community Council.

Comedy Hypnotist Acari will be at The Burgh Hall, Farquhar Street, on Fridaty 25th September, doors open at 7pm.
