Fiona Jarvie (24) from Inverbervie, graduated from Robert Gordon University’s Aberdeen Business School with a BA (Hons) in Management on Tuesday July 10, before heading off to London to start her new job with a large investment bank as an analyst .
Not only did Fiona grasp the opportunity to study abroad for a semester in Edmonton, Canada after independently sourcing a programme for visiting students, but as part of her degree secured a year long placement in London, working for a large investment bank.
One of the key elements of the Management degree that attracted Fiona to RGU was the placement year that offers students the chance to gain valuable industry experience in their chosen field.
Following her successful placement Fiona will now move to London permanently after being accepted on the graduate programme at the firm where she completed her internship.
Fiona said: “The placement experience was an excellent taster of the real world, from applying for the job through to sorting accommodation and settling in. The work itself was also hands on and not just the stereotypical making coffee and answering phones; I learned such a lot in a short space of time.”
