MEARNS Academy S5 students Cameron Leask and Blair Shearer had their legs waxed last week, to raise funds for the school’s Health and Wellbeing Group.
Cameron and Blair are members of the Health and Wellbeing Young Leaders Group within the school and quickly volunteered to go through the pain barrier for a good cause.
Julie Barron and Emily Gordon from Laurencekirk salon Pamperzone came into the school to do the waxing, while a large crowd of students paid for the privilege of looking on and seeing the two lads suffer.
The Health and Wellbeing Group are organising healthy breakfasts within the school two days a week from March 21.
The breakfasts will be free and there will also be a Health Day in early June.
Cameron and Blair are on the Health and Wellbeing Group, along with Zoe Kirkham-Mowbray, Christie Hair, Hannah Gilchrist and Caroline Park.
The group was given a grant of £200 from Aberdeenshire Council, but decided to do fundraising of their own to supplement that figure.
