Auchenblae Gardens’ Open will take place this weekend August 9-10 from 1pm to 4pm each day. Now in its eighth year, this event’s reputation has grown steadily and this year’s selection certainly won’t disappoint.
Seven residents are poised, ready to welcome visitors to their gardens, each one unique, in size, content and landscape.
Although stressed to participants that this is not a competition and that gardens need not be immaculate and weed-free, it will be very obvious that each owner has spent many hours working on ‘their patch’ in preparation for the weekend.
For those new to this Auchenblae experience, pop in to the village hall first to collect a map highlighting the gardens to visit, along with a brief background description. Then, you’re free to wander around the village at leisure, choosing when to make a stop for Strawberry Teas back at the hall, where a savoury produce stall, book, raffle and plant stall may tempt your fancy.
Entry to all gardens and a strawberry tea costs £6 and visits to the gardens can be spread over both Saturday and Sunday.
Transport between the venues can be provided if required. For more details, phone Jenny on 01561 320245.
