A man was been taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary on Monday evening after entering the water at Stonehaven Beach.
The man who entered the water was described as ‘in distress’ but was helped by another resident, Martin Potter, before emergency services arrived.
“Martin waded into the water to help the man and is believed to be a former lifeboat crew member.
An eyewitness told us: “Just observed the tail end of a sea rescue on Stonehaven beach.
“Man ran into the water quite distressed. Hero of the hour was Martin Potter of Bruce who waded into the sea and managed to persuade the man to come out.”
