Drop in for a swift half in Auchenblae

It will be time for a swift half in Auchenblae Village Hall on Saturday, February 9, when the village pub will return for one night only.

a team of lovely ladies have volunteered to man the bar from 7pm until 12.30am. Auchenblae Pre-School Group will transform the village hall into the welcoming watering hole complete with bar, soft lighting, sofas and table football.

There will be good music, cheery staff and comfy chairs plus a great range of beers, wines and spirits.

The bar will be open to over 18’s only and will generate vital funds for the Pre-School Group which provides pre-school care and education to children under five years of age.

Auchenblae Pre-School Group came up with the idea of running a pub night in the village hall to help raise money for themselves and give locals a fun night out.

Auchenblae lost their newly-refurbished pub in January 2009 following a devastating gas explosion and villagers have sorely missed the social life surrounding it.

The village hall has helped fill the gap, playing host to a number of fundraisers including the pub, quiz and curry nights which locals have heartily supported, turning out in droves for a drink and a ‘craic.’

Group chairman, Lorna Eastaugh said “We’re really excited to be ‘re-opening’ the pub again and are looking forward to a great night out.

‘‘It’ll be fun to catch up with our regulars and to welcome new faces along too.

‘‘Pub night is a great chance to meet up with friends and support the pre-school group at the same time. See you at the bar!”

Registered charity APSG operates daily weekday sessions for children aged two to three-years-old and funded pre-school education for three to five-year- olds in Auchenblae, as well as a weekly parent and toddler group.
