Gala set to get under way...

Months of planning and organising will come to fruition this weekend as the Laurencekirk Gala gets under way on Sunday.

There is a list of events planned for the week including a talent show on Monday night at St Laurence Hall. There is no upper age limit and the late date for entries has been extended to this Sunday.

There has been a slight change in the line-up of the principals - one of the attendants has changed.

Tickets for some of the events - ladies’ night, car treasure hunt, comedy night and the gala dance - are still available from The Fringe Salon in Laurencekirk, or by giving the committee a call on 0774 604 1879.

The Bowling Club have also very kindly given the use of their clubhouse facilities for the gala teas this year.

They will be served from 1.30 until 4pm next Saturday, July 19, at the clubhouse in the Memorial Park.

Gala day is also next Saturday and promises to be very busy with a full list of events including a parade, a BMX bike demonstration, doughnut eating competition and children’s fun races.

Fore more information on the gala and the programme of events search Laurencekirk Gala 2014 on Facebook.
