Improvement works

IMPROVEMENT work has begun on a piece of land adjacent to Stonehaven Open Air Pool.

Concerns were raised in the past when travellers set up camp on the land just prior to the pool opening for the season, and Aberdeenshire Council took measures to prevent a repeat of this situation by installing bollards around the perimeter of the grass.

The local authority have now begun work to make further imrpvements to the area.

Aberdeenshire Council’s Head of Roads and Landscape Services Philip McKay said: “The area beside Stonehaven pool is popular with residents and tourists alike and has therefore been identified for improvement. The work necessary to create a slabbed seating area, along with additional landscaping, has begun and is due to be completed by the end of March.”
