The A937/A90 junction campaign group are planning a protest outside parliament and are heading to Holyrood next Thursday April 24.

The protest has been organised by campaign driving force Jill Fotheringham.

Currently there is an ‘Access to Laurencekirk’ study ongoing in the Mearns with the A937/A90 junction group saying more still needs to be done.

Last month Jill sent a letter directly to First Minister Alex Salmond which was replied to by a Transport Scotland representative.

Jill has sent another letter to Transport Minister Keith Brown on the intention of the group to protest outside parliament next Thursday.

On facebook Jill posted: “Dear Mr Brown,

It is our intention to protest Holyrood on Thursday 24th April 2014. Would you be willing to meet with us

Yours sincerely

Jill Fotheringham”

The group are planning to leave from Mearns Academy early next Thursday morning. The campaign for a grade separated junction at the congested road was started back in 2004 after a fatal accident.

The campaign group has over 3500 members on Facebook and can be found by searching for ‘A937/A90 Junction Campaign’.
