Police renew appeal for witnesses to fatal crash

Grampian Police are renewing their appeal for witnesses to a fatal road traffic collision on Friday 8th March on the A90 south of Fordoun, Laurencekirk to come forward.

The collision happened at approximately 4.11pm on Friday March 8 and sadly as a result, Stewart Rhind, 61, and Julian Dawson, 42, were fatally injured. Officers are particularly keen to speak with a man who was driving a red van and lorry drivers who were in the area and have video recording equipment in their cabs, as they may have information that could help with the enquiry.

Inspector Kevin Wallace, the Senior Investigating Officer said: “This was a tragic incident and we are keen to piece together the events that led to this collision. We would like to speak with anyone who may have seen the incident; particularly lorry drivers who have an elevated seating position in their cabs and who may have on-board video cameras that may have captured events leading up to the collision.

“The road would have been relatively busy and I would encourage anyone who has not already spoken to us to get in touch, regardless of how minor you think your information may be.”
