A Portlethen computing student has picked up an industry-sponsored award for his outstanding academic performance throughout first year at Robert Gordon University (RGU).
Luke Fisher (18) has just completed the first year of a computer science degree at RGU and picked up the ConocoPhillips Award at the School of Computer Science and Digital Media’s annual prizegiving ceremony.
The former Portlethen Academy pupil said: “I’m very grateful to receive the award and have found the course to be interesting and engaging so far.
“I’ve always had a keen interest in computers and decided that, to step on to my desired career path, I’d require a degree in computer science.
“I had attended the open days that RGU ran and found their representation of the course to be miles better than the other universities. I was really interested in what the course contained.”
Luke is currently on placement with an oil and gas services company before starting his second year at RGU.
