Rural honours shared

CATTERLINE and Dellavaird rurals were prominent among the trophy winners in the SWRI competitions at Fettercairn Show on Saturday.

Dellavaird won the Castleton Cup awared to the institute with most points overall with Fettercairn runners-up and Dellavaird member Ethel Foreman won the Syme Cup for most points overall with Mary Mair, Catterline runner-up.

Mary Mair won the Mrs Michie Cup for most points in baking with Sheila Lownie, Gourdon runner-up and Catterline won the Balmain Cup for best co-operative entry with Marykirk runners-up.

Christian Milne, Fettercairn won the Middleton Cup for most points in handcrafts with Hazel Robson, Dellavaird, runner-up and Kay Irvine, Catterline won the Floral Art Trophy with Liz Pearson, Catterline and Ethel Foreman joint runners-up.

Frances Smith, Menmuir has best exhibit in handcrafts and Susan Skene, Tarfside had best exhibit in baking and preserves.
