Residents in St Cyrus got out their trowels and forks to take part in this years Garden Competition with Mrs Hadden taking Best overall garden.

There were 24 gardens entered into the competition this year.

Mr and Mrs J Masson won best water feature

The judge was David Shaich from the Kirkton Garden Centre, who sponsored the competition.

He said he was impressed with the high standard and variety of gardens he saw.

The prize winners are as follows:

Best overall garden:

Winner- Mrs M Hadden.

Runner-up - Mr and Mrs R Smith.

Best Flower Garden:

Winner - Mr and Mrs I Hourston.

Mr and Mrs Slessor won in the best container category

Runner-up - Mr J Carnie.

Best Vegetable:

Winner - Mr & Mrs R Smith.

Runner-up - Mr & Mrs J Sparrow.

Best Flower Garden was won by Mr and Mrs I Hourston

Winner - Mrs M Slessor.

Winner - Mr and Mrs J Masson.

Winner - Mr & Mrs A Wood.

Runner-up - Mrs K Hubbard.

Winner - St Cyrus School Nursery.

Runner-up - Mrs K Masson.

The trophies will be presented at the St Cyrus Flower show on August 17 at 2 p.m.
