Speed restrictions

A TEMPORARY speed restriction on the southbound A90 at Muchalls is expected to be in place until the end of April.

Construction company Carillion are currently undertaking work at the Mill of Muchalls where they are strengthening and painting the railway viaduct. Speed restriction measures have been put in place to allow the construction traffic to safely enter and exit the site, which is close to a bend on the dual carriageway, and drivers are required to drive at 50mph on the short stretch of road.

North Kincardine Councillor Carl Nelson contacted the company and was told that the work is expected to be complete by the end of April, when the workers will move up the railway line to a viaduct between Muchalls and Newtonhill to carry out the same job there. The job, which will begin in May, is expected to take four months to complete.
