Thinking Day

AUCHENBLAE Brownies and Guides, Fettercairn Brownies and Guides and Laurencekirk Brownies joined together for a Thinking Day celebration in Luthermuir Hall on Sunday.

This year is the 100th anniversary of Guiding.

Their programme took them on "visits" to four World Centres: Switzerland (snow shoes and chalets); Mexico (God's Eye and Pinattas); India (decorating hands and making brooches from beads) and Fox Lodge, London (underground orienteering and jigsaw pieces of places of interest).

The girls finished by enjoying food from different countries.

During the afternoon, Kirsty Wright of 1st Fettercairn Guides received the highest award in Guiding, the Baden Powell Award.

The award was presented by District Commissioner Evelyn Richardson.
