Will the Transport Minister stop by?

The Laurencekirk Fly-Over committee will be holding an open meeting in Montrose this Friday February 21.

The Laurencekirk Fly-Over committee will be holding an open meeting in Montrose this Friday February 21.

The Scottish Transport Minister has been invited to attend Laurencekirk Flyover Committee’s open meeting in Montrose tomorrow (Friday).

The main speaker will be Jill Fotheringham, who has led the campaign for a flyover at Laurencekirk.

However, she posted on the A937/A90 Junction Campaign page last week that the minister had also been invited.

She said: “Next Friday, February 21, at 7.30 pm, we are holding an open meeting at Hillside Village Hall, have invited some of our local MSPs along and hopefully they will be able to attend, have also invited Keith Brown, our transport minister - not expecting him to show but you never know?”

The meeting will look at action taken so far and further plans for the future, as well as looking at any suggestions from those who attend.

A spokesperson for the organisers said: ‘‘It is hoped that as many people as possible will attendas this will help to put pressure on the Scottish Transport Minister to take action before more accidents occur.
